Sony DSC-TX55 16.2 Megapixel compact camera to be out in September

Mega Race sooner or later had to go to the line, where further increase in resolution has no sense (there is an opinion that cameras with small sensors don't need any more resolution increase). Now software features, such as stereoscopic photography, improved digital "zoom" graphics filters for post processing, available in cameras are attracting customers to buy cameras.
This assumption is confirmed by a compact digital camera Cyber-shot DSC-TX55. The gaget with Eximor R CMOS image sensor has the same resolution (16.2 megapixel) as cameras announced six months ago. Like its predecessor new camera can take high-definition video, make stereoscopic and panoramic images. The camera supports 1080i (AVCHD), but the resolution of panoramic images is 42.9 megapixel.

However Sony applied several new features including a technology called «By Pixel Super Resolution». As stated, this technology doubles the zoom "without loss of quality at the highest image sensor resolution." In addition, the new model is the first camera to have "Picture Effect" feature, extends the artistic possibilities of the photographer without the need for a graphics editor. Previously this feature was implemented in NEX-C3 camera.

According to Sony, Cyber-shot TX55 is has extremely low noise, and high speed autofocus (focusing time of only 0.1 s). It also features 3.3 inch OLEDtouchscreen and optical image stabilizer. As a removable media, you can use a Memory Stick or microSD. The thickness of the camera without the lens cap is less 12.2 mm. The new gadget will be for sale in September with cost of about $ 350.22.
