Samsung created a new smartphone capable of running on the network 4G or LTE {Long Term Evolution} and released by Verizon Wireless, this sophisticated and cool mobile smartphone is called Samsung Stratosphere. This Verizon smartphone is not a GSM Device, it will not work on any GSM Network worldwide. It has been released in October 2011 and is available in the market from this Thursday, 13^TH October 2011.

This handset works on 2G CDMA 800/1900 and 3G CDMA2000 1EV-DO and LTE 700. Its Dimension is 126x65x14mm and weight 164grams. This must be good news for developers. HTC has finally released the Gingerbread Kernel Source Code for a few HTC Android devices.They have released the Gingerbread update kernel source for the Verizon branded HTC Droid Incredible, Thunderbolt handsets and the Sprint branded HTC EVO Shift 4G handset. The kernel source allows the developers to proceed deeper into the device to manipulate every feature on the device instead of being limited like before.

According to Wikipedia, the kernel is

the central component of most computer operating systems; it is a bridge between applications and the actual data processing done at the hardware level. The kernel’s responsibilities include managing the system’s resources (the communication between hardware and software components). Usually as a basic component of an operating system, a kernel can provide the lowest-level abstraction layer for the resources (especially processors and I/O devices) that application software must control to perform its function. It typically makes these facilities available to application processes through inter-process communication mechanisms and system calls.

Most of the developers must have been waiting for this moment so they can work their magic with it and make near bug-free ROM’s for the HTC Droid Incredible, EVO Shift 4G, Thunderbolt devices and then be ready to have a flash-fest.

HTC Rezound aka Vigor is rumored to be the 2nd LTE 4G capable Android phone for Verizon Wireless, which should hit the markets in next month. While HTC and Verizon are expected to announce this handset at an event that will take place in New York on November 3 – next Thursday, HTC Rezound has passed through the FCC doors recently, bearing the model number “PH98100”. The FCC documentation of the HTC Rezound has revealed out some exciting details. According to FCC, the HTC Rezound will feature a wireless charging back cover, which will bring the wireless charging capability for the handset.

Specs wise, HTC Rezound features Android v2.3 Gingerbread OS, 4.3″ 720p display with 1280 X 720 pixels of resolution, 1.5GHz dual-core SoC, 8MP rear & VGA front cameras, 1080p HD video recording capability, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, an SD card slot for memory expansion support and much more.

HTC Rezound will feature Beats Audio by Dr.Dre technology? Yes, according to the press invite of the event, we are assuming that HTC is going to be unveiling of its Verizon Beats-equipped phone. According to a leaked MAP listing, Rezound should should release on November 10th for $299.99 along with the Samsung Galaxy Nexus and Motorola Droid RAZR. Although, the MAP dates are always “tentative”, as the announcement will be happening on the 3rd, I’d say the November 10th is positively accomplishable.
