Word on internet has it HP is planning to launch a 3D monitor in the form of 2311gt. This one’s a 23-inch widescreen monitor with 3D technology.
The HP 2311gt is based on FPR (Film Patterned Retarder) technology which allows 3D viewing through lightweight 3D passive glasses instead of those big ugly 3G glasses which are a norm these days.
The monitor is expected to feature full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, 1,000:1 typical contrast, dynamic contrast ratio of 3,000,000:1, 5ms response time, and 250cd/m2 brightness (100 cd/m2 in 3D mode). I/O connectivity include D-Sub, DVI and HDMI.
It is also expected to feature CyberLink software for converting 2D videos to 3D in real-time. In addition, it’ll offer TriDef 3D Ignition Game Player which allows you to play 2D games in 3D. Two pairs of 3D glasses will also come bundled with this display.
The HP 2311gt is listed on European e-commerce websites for $382 (Euro 273.12). We’ll let you know as and when HP goes official on this one.
