Two new tablet PCs have been launched in the Taiwan market by Lenovo. The two laptops are measured at 10.1-inch. The names of each one of the tablet PCs are –
Both of these models are powered by NVIDIA dual code Tegra CPUs and the most interesting part is the ThinkPad which is designed primarily to cater the business segment. The tablet PC shipments is expected to reach at the level of 62.5 million units universally which can be seen in the second half of this year; whereas, the Asia Pacific (excluding Japan) will receive a shipment of 21 million units by 2015. No wonder, this plan seems huge and Lenovo may get a bit aggressive in expanding its network through these two tablets. The Lenovo Taiwan president named Justin Liang has said that the company will establish a new department for the business. He further added that already several distributors are available from medical and education sectors who have expressed their interest in taking the tablet PCs offered by Lenovo.
Apart from introducing its two tablets – ThinkPad and IdeaPad K1, Lenovo has also developed its own application store which will address the problems that the market of tablet PC still lacks. The company is in move of developing enterprise applications to fulfill the requirement of people. On the other hand, the tablet PCs created by Lenovo will be also available with Documents – To Go, Encryption for enterprise security and McAfee anti-virus software.
The ThinkPad tablet from Lenovo will get a Corning’s Gorilla reinforced glass. It will also feature a USB port for connecting purposes and other peripherals. Apart from this, IdeaPad K1 will be equipped with an exclusive user interface created by the company. It will be the Social Touch applications which are specifically designed to manage the social networking sites.
